Option 1 – BY FERRY SERVICES FROM BORIVALI JETTY

  1. Reaching Gorai Jetty to Avail Ferry Services:

    1. By Mumbai Local Train

      1. Reach Borivali Station on the Western Railway Mumbai Suburban line. It is also well connected by State Transport Buses from Thane, Navi Mumbai & Mumbai cities.

(Those travelling from Central Railway will have to change a train at Dadar Station)

  1. Exit Borivali railway Station on the Western side and come out exiting from platform No. 3 towards North (Virar end). Then From Chandavarkar Road across station, take BEST Bus No. 294 / 247 to Gorai Creek (Also known as Gorai ‘Khadi’ in vernacular) (Approx. charge Rs. 6).
  2. Alternatively, you can take an Auto rickshaw (Approx. charge Rs. 55 - 70) or Share auto ( Available from Chandavarkar Road across station - Approx. charge Rs. 20) up-to the Destination called Gorai Creek. / Or Gorai Khadi. The Creek is about 3.8 km from the Borivali Station.
  1. By Mumbai Metro Line 2A & 7
    1. Reach Borivali (West) Metro Station by boarding Metro Service on Line 2A & 7, Yellow & Red lines.
    2. Exit the Metro Station and go towards opposite road towards Gorai Creek/ Or Gorai Khadi. Then take an Auto rickshaw (Approx. charge Rs. 28 - 30) up-to the Destination called Gorai Creek. / Or Gorai Khadi. The Creek is about 2 km from the Borivali (West) Metro Station.

 

  1. Take Ferry Services from jetty to reach Global Vipassana Pagoda. From Gorai Creek (Borivali): there are 2 options to reach by ferry:

 

  1. From Borivali side Jetty till Gorai Village Jetty

From Gorai Creek (Borivali) take Gorai ferry services up to gorai village Jetty, will cost approx. Rs. 15 for a one-way trip. The Gorai Village jetty operates on daily basis on every 15 mins interval till 11 PM. From the other side i.e. Gorai village Jetty the Pagoda is at a distance of 3.5 KM. You may take an auto rickshaw with charges approx. Rs. 100/- for up to 3 passengers.

Please Note: If you are coming for course please come to Gorai Village Jetty.

 

  1. From Borivali side Jetty till Esselworld Jetty (Pagoda)

 

From Gorai Creek (Borivali) take the Esselworld Ferry Service, costing approx. Rs. 100 for a return trip till Esselworld Jetty and walk around 500 meters to reach the Pagoda.

*Timings of these Boat are subject to Water kingdom operational hours.

*Please Note: Essel World ferry services from Marve Beach, Malad is currently closed

 

Option 2 – By Public Transport Train / Bus (from Bhayander Station & then Bus)

 

Travel by Local train up till Bhayandar Station West (W.R.) and then take MBMT (Mira Bhayandar Municipal Transport). F r om Bha ya n d a r St at i on (W est si d e), route no. 4 Bus is available for Global Vipassana Pagoda. Timings 6.30 am till 7.30 pm. (Frequency 1 Hour). Fare from Bhayandar Stn. to Global Pagoda is approx. Rs. 22

Option 3 – BY ROAD FROM WESTERN SIDE OF MUMBAI coming from Mumbai City/ Domestic Airport / International Airport / Western Railway Stations in Mumbai

The Pagoda is about 42 km from the Domestic Airport Terminal.

  1. Reach Western Express Highway and go North towards Borivali/ Dahisar/ Ahmedabad.
  2. Cross the Dahisar Toll Booth and keep going straight.
  3. When you reach the Mira- Bhayandar crossing, at Kashimira turn Left towards Mira- Bhayandar. The crossing has a statue of Shivaji Maharaj positioned at the centre.
  4. Keep going straight till you reach Golden  Nest  Circle. At the Golden Nest Circle, take   a left turn and stay on the main road.
  5. Keep going straight till you take a hard right turn at the end of the road. This point will come after Maxus Mall, which comes on your right. After the hard right turn, take a left at the T point junction.

  6. Keep following directions to Esselworld/ Global Vipassana Pagoda from this point

forward.

  1. When you reach the Esselworld Parking Lot, go ahead a few meters and take a right turn towards Esselworld.
  2. Keep going straight till you reach a Helipad. At the Helipad, take a right turn to the Global Pagoda Road through the Sanchi Gate.

 

Option 4 – BY ROAD FROM CENTRAL SIDE OF MUMBAI coming from Thane / Nashik / Igatpuri / Pune/ Navi Mumbai

The Pagoda is about 22 km from the Ghodbunder Junction.

  1. Reach State Highway 42 / Ghodbunder Road from NH3 (Agra Road) / Old Agra Road

/ Eastern Express Highway.

  1. Keep going on Ghodbunder Road till you reach NH8, Mumbai Ahmedabad Highway.

  2. At the Ghodbunder Junction (Sai Palace Hotel), take a left turn towards Mumbai city.

  3. Keep going straight till you reach the Mira-Bhayandar crossing. (Shivaji Statue).
  4. When you reach the Mira- Bhayandar crossing, at Kashimira turn right towards Mira- Bhayandar.
  5. Keep going straight till you reach Golden  Nest  Circle. At the Golden Nest Circle, take   a left turn and stay on the main road.
  6. Keep going straight till you take a hard right turn at the end of the road. This point will come after Maxus Mall, which comes on your right. After the hard right turn, take a left at the T point junction.
  7. Keep following directions to Esselworld/ Global Vipassana Pagoda from this point forward.
  8. When you reach the Esselworld Parking Lot, go ahead a few meters and take a right turn towards Esselworld.
  9. Keep going straight till you reach  the  Helipad.  At  the  Helipad,  take a right turn to the Global Pagoda Road through the Sanchi Gate.
